Quality Assurance RN Nurse

About This Role

The Quality Assurance (QA) RN Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring and enhancing the quality of care for residents in a long-term care facility. This position involves monitoring nursing practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Monitor nursing practices and provide feedback, coaching, and support to nursing staff to ensure adherence to quality standards
• Participate in audits and analyze data from various reports (CASPER, PointRight) and assessments to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Prepare QAPI reports, contribute to monthly QA meeting minutes, and follow up on action plans
• Support the Director of Nursing in coordinating and evaluating staff development and education programs
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote compliance and high-quality care
• Maintain accurate records for quality metrics, infection control, and wound care programs
• Serve as a resource for clinical staff, providing guidance on best practices and regulatory requirements
• Participate in state surveys and follow-up processes as needed
• Foster effective communication and collaboration among all departments to improve patient outcomes

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current RN license in New York State
• CPR certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Experience in long-term care, quality improvement, or nursing leadership strongly preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
• Master’s degree
• Experience in long-term care, quality improvement, or nursing leadership
• Knowledge of infection control, wound care, emergency preparedness, and nursing compliance regulations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and high ethical standards
