Purchasing Assistant

About This Role

This Purchasing Assistant role procures materials and services for Rear View Safety, communicating with vendors, negotiating pricing, and managing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, availability and delivery
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers on new purchases or changes to existing purchase orders
• Investigate and evaluate new sources of supply
• Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, and quote requests, ensuring correct documentation is supplied to vendors
• Enter Purchase Orders and Requisitions
• Procure materials and services with or without the aid of the MRP system
• Manage and resolve problems regarding delivery, quality and pricing in a timely manner
• Track, maintain, and update lead times, pricing and futures for items ordered
• Expedite purchase orders to meet deliveries and advise departments of delivery status
• Identify shortages and shipping delays proactively and escalate as necessary
