About This Role

Supervise and coordinate nursing and clinical staff within the Substance Use Services Program to ensure high-quality health care and education services to the public. This role involves staff development, performance management, and strategic program coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision and technical expertise for disease prevention, investigation, and management services
  • Coordinate and communicate with healthcare facilities, schools, businesses, and partners
  • Develop team strategy, manage program contracts, and meet funding deliverables with Program Manager and Division Director
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of nurses, clinical staff, professionals, and administrative employees
  • Direct staff work with a focus on achieving program, project, and department goals
  • Provide regular performance feedback and conduct timely performance reviews
  • Manage staff with varied needs and personalities effectively, facilitating a cohesive work team
  • Partner with HR on the investigation and resolution of disciplinary matters and issue discipline as needed
  • Ensure employees comply with Department policies and procedures, including those around hours worked, ethics, and time off
  • Mentor, coach, and develop direct reports, ensuring adequate training and cross-training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Four years of nursing experience in a healthcare or public health setting
  • Two years of experience in a clinical setting as a supervisor or lead
  • Current State of Washington Registered Nurse License or multi-state license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers and AED certifications within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Four years of nursing experience in a healthcare or public health setting, plus two years of experience in a clinical setting as a supervisor or lead
