Propane Delivery Driver

About This Role

This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of energy products like propane, fuel oil, and diesel fuel, while also assisting with fleet maintenance and property upkeep during quieter periods.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently deliver distillates and propane as directed by the distribution office team, observing all applicable safety practices and company regulations
• Perform "return to service" duties, including leak checks, relighting appliances (propane), and prime/starts (oil)
• Maintain a daily respectful, timely dialogue with office staff and managers
• Inspect and maintain delivery trucks, including pre-trip inspections, paperwork, cleaning, and daily emergency shutoff testing
• Maintain and submit accurate reports and customer payments
• Participate in regular safety and operations meetings, proposing ideas for improving delivery processes
• Execute on the safety strategy defined by company management
• Use Personal Protective Equipment when applicable
• Provide customer service support for delivery matters as necessary
• Assist in off-season tasks such as fleet reconditioning, meter reading, tank setting, and landscaping/maintenance of company properties

Requirements

• Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or B, with hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements
• Valid DOT medical certificate
• Ability to drive a standard-shift transmission
• Ability to pass company-provided drug test, alcohol test, and physical
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime, and on call shifts
• Experience with regulatory agency requirements (e.g. DOT, HazMat, OSHA, FMCSA)
• Proficient in the use of Android tablets and web-based software applications

Qualifications

• Three or more years of petroleum or propane delivery experience preferred
