Project Surveyor

About This Role

Manage and build a survey team, supporting day-to-day survey operations with a focus on civil engineering projects for public and private sector clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee various types of surveys including digital leveling, metes and bounds, topographic, construction, horizontal control, design, and as-built surveys
• Utilize principles of global positioning systems (GPS) and geographic/land information systems (GIS)
• Conduct and support records research, abstract mapping, preliminary boundary determinations, and map closures
• Process field data, perform digital terrain mapping, and prepare final survey exhibit deliverables for RPLS review
• Read and prepare plans, and utilize survey applications of computer-aided drafting (CAD)
• Coordinate design elements from professionals and format them into final drawings
• Manage both field and office personnel and build strong relationships with team members, leaders, and clients
• Contribute to project profitability and ensure quality assurance and quality control

Requirements

• Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Surveyor-In Training (SIT) scheduled to sit for the RPLS exam
• Extensive experience with TxDOT, other public sector work (cities, counties, utility districts, other agencies) and private land development
• Experience in Business Development to assist in managing projects
• Computer literate with a knowledge of MicroStation, GeoPAK, Civil3D, Carlson, Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Project management skills
• Critical thinking and data interpretation skills

Nice to Have

• Lidar and orthomosaic imagery experience
