Lead and manage large-scale Renewable Energy, Power Plant, and Electrical Substation projects under EPC contracts, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. Oversee all aspects of project execution from planning to closeout, maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage substation projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
- Oversee all phases of EPC project execution including engineering coordination, procurement oversight, civil works, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls staff
- Review and interpret substation drawings, specifications, schematics, and construction documents
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry codes, utility standards, and client specifications
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations across one or more active substation projects
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues to maintain project performance
- Facilitate communications with clients, utilities, and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and issue resolution
- Support and enforce site safety programs, environmental compliance, and quality assurance protocols
- Provide leadership and direction to field personnel, subcontractors, and junior project staff
Requirements
- 5+ years industry experience as Project Engineer or Project Manager overseeing EPC projects in Renewable Energy, Power Plant, or Electrical Substation construction
- Proven track record managing all phases of EPC project execution (engineering coordination, procurement oversight, construction management, commissioning support)
- Strong working knowledge of medium-voltage substation systems (switchgear, transformers, protective relays, SCADA systems)
- Solid understanding of high-voltage transmission (HVT) systems and associated construction and commissioning practices
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or equivalent)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager overseeing EPC projects in Renewable Energy, Power Plant, or Electrical Substation construction. Candidates with 10+ years of directly relevant professional experience in the electric power industry will also be considered.
