Project Manager, Power Capital Projects

About This Role

This Project Manager will oversee major Power CapEx/construction projects from design to construction execution within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. The role requires strong leadership and technical expertise to bring structure, discipline, and delivery rigor to first-of-kind or early commercial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Power CapEx projects from early planning and Front End Loading (FEL) through construction, commissioning, and handover
• Establish project controls, governance, and execution plans in a developing organization
• Manage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners delivering $100MM+ capital projects
• Own scope, schedule, cost, and risk using classical project management practices
• Interface with investors, partners, regulators, and technical teams to drive alignment and decisions
• Ensure the project's economic model is accurate weighing risks and validating input
• Collaborate across functions such as Geology, Land, Business Development
• Develop and apply the project playbook and best practices tool kit
• Assist in managing vendor, supplier, and service providers

Requirements

• 10+ years in oil and gas industry in project, program management or consulting capacity
• Direct experience leading $100MM+ Power CapEx projects (generation facilities, transmission lines, power plants, data centers, gas pipelines or similar infrastructure)
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Experience managing $100MM+ worth of capital management, particularly in Power projects
• Proven Project and/or Program Management experience utilizing PM methodology and tools (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, risk management, stakeholder management and/or procurement)
• Strong Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, cost control, and change management skills
• Experience with Contract development, Contractor management and project contract strategies
• Proficient in Excel, PPT, MS Project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field along with business acumen
• 10+ years in oil and gas industry in project, program management or consulting capacity, with direct experience leading $100MM+ Power CapEx projects
