Project Engineer Intern

About This Role

As a Project Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the entire construction lifecycle, supporting Project Managers and Superintendents. This role focuses on controlling project documentation, coordinating field activities, managing subcontractor relations, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the "source of truth" for the project, assisting in managing RFIs, Submittals, and As-Built drawings
• Conduct daily site walks with Superintendents to monitor safety compliance, track production milestones, and document progress photos
• Act as a bridge between the office and the field, helping coordinate weekly trade meetings and communicate schedule updates to subcontractors
• Participate in safety audits and "Punch List" walks to ensure project details meet high standards before turnover

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Junior or Senior standing preferred)
• Willingness to learn new software
• Problem-solver attitude
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both office staff and field trades
• Ability to navigate active construction sites (climbing ladders, walking on uneven terrain, etc.)

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, or Revit
