The Project Engineer is responsible for developing tailored wiring solutions for clients, focusing on photovoltaic (PV) systems and related electrical components in a pre-construction role. This position involves managing multiple priorities, ensuring NEC standards compliance, performing voltage drop calculations, and delivering technical presentations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand project objectives, technical requirements, and constraints.
- Propose customized solutions for PV systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client expectations.
- Ensure all reviewed designs comply with NEC standards and industry’s best practices.
- Perform VD calculations and provide recommendations for maintaining system efficiency and compliance.
- Review CAD drawings for accuracy and alignment with project requirements, ensuring technical precision.
- Evaluate PV wire and cable quotes to confirm feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Deliver engaging technical presentations to clients and internal teams, incorporating visuals such as 3D models, VR simulations, and installation diagrams.
- Act as a liaison between the design team and sales team, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on project goals.
- Work with quality field teams to evaluate and address design-related challenges, providing insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years in engineering design, project management, or PV systems.
- Strong knowledge of PV wire, cable systems, NEC standards, and VD calculations.
- Ability to review and interpret CAD drawings with precision.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly for client-facing engagements.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.

- Proven experience delivering technical presentations and facilitating team collaboration.
