Lead and oversee land surveying activities for diverse projects, utilizing advanced equipment to provide accurate survey data. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and clients to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Lead land surveying efforts, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Plan and execute field surveys, utilizing advanced surveying equipment and technology
- Analyze survey data, legal descriptions, and property records to determine property boundaries and rights-of-way
- Prepare and review survey maps, plats, and reports in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Collaborate with project teams to provide accurate survey data for design, planning, and construction purposes
- Interface with clients, local authorities, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with surveying requirements
- Mentor and guide junior surveyors and technicians in surveying techniques, procedures, and equipment operation
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Washington State or ability to obtain
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in land surveying software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, etc.)
- Extensive experience in land surveying, including boundary determination, topographic mapping, and construction layout
- Strong knowledge of land surveying laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret legal descriptions and property documents
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Extensive experience in land surveying, including boundary determination, topographic mapping, and construction layout.
