Provide comprehensive professional engineering services, including consultation, evaluation, planning, and design, for historic sites, parks, and recreational facilities. Oversee projects from inception to closeout, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and state codes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee consultant and contract work, preparing scopes of work and administering contracts
- Develop, implement, and oversee plans for historic sites, parks, recreational, and other facilities
- Manage projects from inception to construction closeout using in-house and consultant resources
- Review work for quality and conformity to professional standards, NYS code, environmental and accessibility requirements
- Perform and/or manage the preparation of contract drawings and specifications
- Prepare graphics and presentations for internal and public design intent communication
- Review, approve, and sign/seal engineering plans, estimates, specifications, contracts, and completed work
- Coordinate work activities with park management to meet program and project deadlines
- Supervise lower-level staff in design development, construction documents, and project implementation
- Assure work is performed within budget and on schedule, reviewing payments and ensuring document compliance
Requirements
- New York State Professional Engineer’s license and current registration
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field; OR Bachelor's degree and one year of qualifying engineering experience
- One year of full-time engineering experience in the design and construction of parks, roads, bridges, recreational facilities, water and/or wastewater treatment facilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related fields
- 1 year of full-time engineering experience in the design and construction of parks, roads, bridges, recreational facilities, water and/or wastewater treatment facilities
