Production Planner / Scheduler

About This Role

This role is responsible for creating and maintaining the plant production schedule, coordinating activities between customer service and production, and ensuring on-time delivery of products. This position plays a crucial role in optimizing production flow and managing material availability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Plant production schedule
• Process paperwork for the production areas
• Actively participate in daily Operations meetings
• Act as the primary liaison between customer service and production
• Synchronize production schedules between departments
• Identify and escalate any material shortfalls
• Communicate with purchasing regarding new customer orders and production schedules
• Acknowledge new orders to customer service within established time frames
• Monitor Safety Stock levels as required
• Engineer, adjust, and release production jobs, including setting quantities and completion dates
• Use the ERP system to adjust and confirm production schedules for each area
• Coordinate with Material Handling to ensure raw materials are staged
• Communicate schedule adjustments with Production Supervisor and Team Leads
• Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to achieve on-time delivery
• Evaluate production schedules and communicate forecasted sales figures to management
• Execute daily finished goods to stock transfers

Requirements

• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of quality system procedures and work instructions

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years manufacturing experience desired
