Provide essential support and operational assistance to probation officers and supervisors within Juvenile Services by assisting with probation monitoring, client transportation, court reports, and daily program activities for juveniles referred for law violations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with providing supervision of cases under the juvenile court and juvenile services
- Assist with the preparation of court reports for court proceedings
- Attend court hearings and provide information to the court as requested
- Monitor the progress of juveniles and families toward court-ordered conditions of supervision
- Arrange, coordinate, and facilitate access to community agencies and service providers
- Maintain program records of specialized programs
- Represent specialized programs in court and conduct student entry and exit including program intake and assessments
- Provide transportation for juveniles and families to court, appointments, school, and community service
- Create juvenile files in computer, input information reflecting contacts and case work activities, and update database
- Coordinate action with staff and outside authorities concerning the status of cases
Requirements
- Associate's degree OR 60 hours of college work plus one (1) year of full-time work experience in a related field or equivalent education and experience
- Keyboarding experience
- Familiarity with standard computer software programs
- Good organizational skills
- Valid Driver's license
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidential records
- Ability to complete non-violent restraint training if required
Qualifications
