The Principal Clerk maintains daily teacher attendance logs, manages staff records, processes payroll, handles requisitions, and provides administrative support to the school's leadership and main office staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a Daily Teacher Attendance Log and related records for substitute teachers
- Collaborate with the Assistant Principal on staff records
- Maintain PowerSchool technology with updated pupil information
- Maintain updated records on the School staff
- Perform word processing, typing, and proofing of letters, documents, and memoranda
- Prepare School’s TLM Payroll and Supplemental pays for timely submission to the Central Office Payroll Department
- Prepare MUNIS requisitions and maintain purchase orders
- Welcome visitors, respond to inquiries, and direct them appropriately
- Operate fax and copying machines for duplicating various forms, bulletins, and notices
- Organize and maintain office files
- Answer the telephone, take messages, and forward them to appropriate personnel
- Provide support to the Principal, Assistant Principal, and other main office staff
Requirements
- Civil Service Eligibility
- High School graduate
- Ability to type, word process, and proofread letters and documents of more than average difficulty
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work on a schedule that coincides with the hours of the School
- Must be a resident of Springfield
