About This Role

This role involves coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an emergency room setting, collaborating with medical providers and other care team members. The Registered Nurse will provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models to ensure an unparalleled patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in the department
  • Collaborate with medical providers and other members of the care team
  • Provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models
  • Serve as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers
  • Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments
  • Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by medical provider(s)
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
  • Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs proactively
  • Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures
  • Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self-management

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN Virginia license or compact multistate license
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred
