The Pre-Doctoral Researcher will work on a research project at the Center for Computational Quantum Physics with CCQ staff mentors. This program offers graduate students pursuing a PhD the opportunity for a 4-month temporary full-time employment.
Responsibilities
- Work on a research project with one or more CCQ staff mentors
Requirements
- Currently engaged in dissertation research in a PhD program in a relevant field
- Approval of thesis advisor
- At least 1-2 years of advanced course work in areas relevant to the proposed research
- 1 or more years of relevant research experience
- Demonstrated understanding of basic research skills
- Experience programming in C/C++, Python/Julia, and/or Fortran
Qualifications
- PhD in condensed matter physics, materials science, or chemistry relevant to the proposed research
- At least 1-2 years of advanced coursework and 1+ years of relevant research experience
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of software engineering practices for working in groups (software development life cycles, coding standards, code review, version control systems like Git)
- Knowledge of Linux
