Practical Radiology Tech

About This Role

Produce quality radiographic examinations of the chest and distal extremities for medical diagnosis. Ensure proper patient positioning, equipment setup, and adherence to safety techniques to minimize radiation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Utilize general operating procedures for start-up, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
• Ensure proper film identification including date stickers, patient identification, and right/left markers
• Ensure proper and fair charging of patient procedures in compliance with Model Compliance and Ethical guidelines
• Ensure proper protocol for filing and copying of films
• Position patient to achieve best examination results and utilize in-depth knowledge of human anatomy
• Explain the x-ray process to each patient prior to examination
• Set up, adjust, and adapt equipment and procedure to accommodate the patient’s condition to obtain reliable results
• Utilize safety techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and themselves
• Ensure proficiency in delivery of patients, supplies, films, and reports
• Ensure accountability and responsibility for verification of proper patient identification using patient armband

Requirements

• Graduation Certificate from JRCERT accredited PRT program
• Clinical externship experience in an acute care facility
• Arizona Registered Practical Radiological Technologist (PRT)
• CPR certification
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong team skills

Qualifications

• Graduation Certificate from JRCERT accredited PRT program

Nice to Have

• One year PRT level radiology experience
