Post Doctoral Research Fellow

About This Role

This Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Niewold Lab focuses on understanding the genetic pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, utilizing state-of-the-art molecular and genomic approaches with patient-derived samples.

Responsibilities

• Work with Dr. Niewold to develop and carry out a project related to autoimmunity research for peer-reviewed publication
• Independently design and perform experiments using molecular, cellular, and genetic techniques
• Train new or current lab members and colleagues
• Present at lab meetings and represent the lab at local, national, and international forums
• Draft manuscripts for publications
• Contribute to obtaining data for grant applications

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.D. degree
• Background in genetic and genomic methods
• Background in cellular and molecular immunology
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently
• High level of motivation and independence
• Ability to think critically

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.D. degree
• Completion of PhD or MD training

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of statistics
• Knowledge of Rheumatologic terminology
• Good written/oral communication skills in English
