This Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Niewold Lab focuses on understanding the genetic pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, utilizing state-of-the-art molecular and genomic approaches with patient-derived samples.
Responsibilities
- Work with Dr. Niewold to develop and carry out a project related to autoimmunity research for peer-reviewed publication
- Independently design and perform experiments using molecular, cellular, and genetic techniques
- Train new or current lab members and colleagues
- Present at lab meetings and represent the lab at local, national, and international forums
- Draft manuscripts for publications
- Contribute to obtaining data for grant applications
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.D. degree
- Background in genetic and genomic methods
- Background in cellular and molecular immunology
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently
- High level of motivation and independence
- Ability to think critically
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.D. degree
- Completion of PhD or MD training
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of statistics
- Knowledge of Rheumatologic terminology
- Good written/oral communication skills in English
