About This Role

Provide direct clinical services, including individual, couple, and family therapy, to patients within the Childhood Trauma Treatment Program, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Maintain comprehensive case records and actively participate in agency and training activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couple, and family therapy services using a solution-focused, brief therapy framework under doctoral-level supervision
  • Interview and evaluate patients, establish diagnoses, and monitor patient behavior to develop collaborative treatment plans with defined goals and outcomes
  • Provide case management, outreach, and aftercare services to patients
  • Counsel crisis patients to stabilize their condition, preventing self-harm or harm to others, using short-term intervention techniques or referrals
  • Meet performance standards for direct staff hours (DSH)
  • Develop and lead at least one treatment, skills building group, or adolescent IOP group
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize and teach appropriate cognitive/behavior management and skill-building techniques
  • Communicate with other agency programs and/or human service agencies to obtain relevant patient information, refer patients, and consult on patient progress
  • Consult with regard to crisis services
  • Complete various administrative and insurance forms, maintaining concise comprehensive case records

Requirements

  • MA degree in Psychology
  • 1000 hours of Psychology Practicum
  • Completion of Psychology Residency
  • Clinically appropriate skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Windows environment

Qualifications

  • MA degree in Psychology

Nice to Have

  • Illinois driver's license in good standing and vehicle insurance (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with child and family mental health and substance abuse treatment networks
