Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee

About This Role

The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will assist experienced specialists in cleaning, maintaining, and chemically treating pools at client facilities, ensuring proper water quality and equipment function.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments
• Periodically empty pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces
• Assist Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH, chlorine, presence of bacteria, algae, or contaminants
• Receive training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry, and clarity of pool water
• Calculate and add chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants, or correct other problems
• Inspect pool and equipment
• Assist Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs, and supplies

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools
• Mechanical and manual labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment
• Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds at a time
• Adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings, and complete recordkeeping
• Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking, and monitoring pools and facilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1 year of related experience required
