The Plant Electrician manages the installation and maintenance of City water, sewer, irrigation, stormwater, and transportation infrastructure. This role involves both semi-skilled manual and limited technical work, ensuring the proper functioning of city equipment and contributing to crew operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform semi-skilled manual and limited technical work for installation and maintenance of City water, sewer, and irrigation infrastructure, stormwater infrastructure, and/or transportation infrastructure.
- Ensure the proper stocking and functioning of equipment and supplies in assigned city vehicle(s) and prepare work sites per daily work orders.
- Perform essential functions as part of a crew comprised of equipment operators and laborers, but may perform certain independent tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.
- Perform maintenance and repair on municipal property, including installation and repair of water/wastewater and irrigation lines, replacement of damaged valves and hydrants, and installation of new structures.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Six months advanced study or technical training in electrical/electronic technology
- Four years commercial or industrial electrical work experience
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to obtain Florida CDL "B" Driver's License within six months of hire
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED and an additional six (6) months of advanced study or technical training in electrical/electronic technology.
- Four (4) years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work.
