About This Role

The Planner will perform a full range of planning functions, supporting service development for Metro Transit, analyzing data, and preparing reports to improve transit efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic technical assignments and reviews related to transit planning
  • Prepare staff reports and other written analysis on planning projects
  • Administer planning assignments; gather and analyze data on assigned projects
  • Formulate project plans to administer project funding
  • Prepare plans, maps, diagrams and graphs and draft staff reports
  • Participate on review committees for various planning initiatives
  • Develop shared mobility and on-demand pilot projects
  • Act as liaison with interest groups, communities, counties, regional, and state agencies
  • Give advice to local government staff on agency planning programs
  • Provide assistance on technical and procedural aspects of planning

Requirements

  • Experience in planning or public administration combined with education in city, urban, or environmental planning or closely related field

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree or higher in city, urban, or environmental planning or closely related field
  • 3+ years of experience in planning or public administration with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years with an Associate's degree, or 7+ years with a high school diploma/GED.
