The Pipeline Controller will be responsible for operating a combination of pipeline systems and storage terminals from a console. This individual must recognize and resolve abnormal operating conditions, maintaining alertness during emergencies, and ensuring safe operations and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Accurately monitor pressure, flow, gravity, tank levels, and other operating parameters
- Control and monitor valve and pump status from the Operations Control Center
- Flawlessly control and monitor product and/or crude batch changes
- Understand and execute shipping schedules
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers (e.g., the public, emergency responders, inspectors, and regulators)
- Maintain safe operations and product quality
- Analyze and understand data and trends
- Maintain compliance with Control Room Management Regulations
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, safe work ethic while remotely operating pipelines and terminals from a computerized console
- Ability to plan daily work activities in accordance with established Company and Regulatory procedures
- Ability to work effectively both alone and with others
- Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Willing and able to work rotating shifts, overtimes, holidays, weekends, and respond to call-outs
- Ability to perform relief work when requested
- Willing and able to attend/complete required training courses
Qualifications
- B.S. or equivalent
