This role is responsible for performing moderately complex, non-technical claim-related activities in accordance with established quality and timeliness standards. The individual will handle various claim files as directed by management and provide compassionate service to ensure customer retention.
Responsibilities
- Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs
- Investigate prior losses and other information on file and order reports as needed at the direction of adjusters and management
- Retrieve, print and fax, or mail supporting documentation to vendors or others as directed
- Handle claim files (locates/requests files, files paperwork, reconstructs missing files, moves misfiled documents, sends to other offices, etc.)
- Perform clerical duties, including data entry, filing paper documents, email, calendar management, and word processing
- Participate in or assist in training new or less experienced employees and demonstrating work processes
- Complete all necessary forms, log documents into the system, and route them to the appropriate parties
- Contact or receive contact from customers or other claim related third parties to obtain and/or provide necessary file information
- Receive, screen and route incoming telephone calls and other electronic correspondence
- Assist adjusters with more complex claim handling, analyze documentation and settle basic, straightforward, and routine claims quickly and efficiently
