This role involves teaching undergraduate physics courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the academic mission of the School of Arts and Sciences at American International University in Kuwait. The instructor will foster a collaborative learning environment, apply innovative teaching methods, and integrate real-world applications into the curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate physics courses ranging from introductory to advanced levels
- Develop and deliver course materials using effective and innovative teaching practices across multiple modalities (classroom, hybrid, and online)
- Advise, mentor, and support students in their academic and professional development
- Engage in program and course assessment to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with learning outcomes
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement to broaden program offerings
- Participate in faculty governance, service, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Physics or a closely related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students
- Ability to teach using multiple instructional modalities and integrate technology into teaching
- Experience with learning management systems and instructional technologies
- Collaborative approach to working across disciplines and contributing to a diverse academic community
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Physics or a closely related field
Nice to Have
- PhD preferred
- University teaching experience
- Background in program and course outcomes assessment
