Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Emergency Med/Urgent Care

About This Role

This role involves providing medical and educational services to patients in an Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care setting under physician supervision. The individual will work within a cooperative department, collaborating with healthcare providers and co-workers to ensure positive patient interaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and educational services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician
• Adhere to Nurse Practitioner Protocol and scope of practice within the Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner License
• Utilize team effort with healthcare providers, co-workers, and the public for positive patient interaction

Requirements

• Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License or Physician Assistant
• Nurse Practitioner Certification by a national certifying body
• Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification by the State of Wisconsin
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association

Qualifications

• Master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program (for NPs); Successful completion of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program (for PAs)
• None required, two years nursing experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Two years nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire
