Provide clinical patient care as a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital, working on an as-needed basis to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical patient care to all assigned patients on an as-needed basis
- Maintain BCLS/ACLS Certification and annual program requirements for renewal
- Possess the required competence in the area of assignment within the guidelines of the position description
- Complete the necessary orientation program as coordinated by Nursing Education prior to engagement
- Comply with all institutional regulations as would a full-time employee
- Maintain telephone accessibility for control of assignment
- Notify the unit or care center office of any changes in contact information
- Submit a letter of resignation at least two weeks ahead of effective date
Requirements
- Master's degree to practice as a Registered Nurse Practitioner
- Relevant clinical nursing experience
- RN License from DOH / Office of Professions
- CNP License from DOH / Office of Professions
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from AHA
- ACLS Certification (in ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs; Telemetry Units; SDU; IR, Interventional Cardiology (CCL/EP/Echo); L&D; Endoscopy, and APN Adult Oncology)
- NRP Certification (Labor and Delivery, NICU depts.)
- PALS Certification (in ED; PACU; IR; Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology depts.)
Qualifications
- Master's degree program designed to prepare a registered nurse to provide acute/primary health care services or the successful completion of an approved supplemental education program, i.e., post-Masters NP certificate.
- Relevant clinical nursing experience
