Pediatrician

About This Role

The Pediatrician provides direct pediatric care to patients at the Duval Family Health Center, collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure holistic patient care and maintaining thorough documentation. This part-time position involves diagnosis, preventative care, and treatment, with a focus on promoting positive health behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain productivity levels while providing quality medical care including diagnosis, preventative care, treatment, medication management, and referrals
• Promote positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and counseling
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatment programs on patient progress
• Complete all relevant charting, documentation, and follow-up, maintaining patient-related paperwork
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in pediatric care through professional literature and seminars
• Participate in quality assurance/improvement and risk management efforts
• Coordinate or direct employee workshops, courses, or training about pediatric health issues
• Coordinate patient care with members of the Housing Team and other Clinic departments, focusing on integrated care
• Participate in all appropriate team meetings and required training sessions
• Maintain active, unrestricted MD/DO license

Requirements

• Florida licensed physician (MD/DO) with current valid, unrestricted Florida medical license
• Board certification as a pediatrician
• Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a pediatric clinical setting
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to pass a Level II Background Screening
