Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and the public, managing scheduling, insurance verification, billing, and patient inquiries. Perform general office and clerical functions to ensure smooth administrative operations in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the registration area and telephones open promptly and effectively carry out closing procedures.
- Greet patients and collect all necessary documentation, confirm insurance eligibility, and obtain required signatures.
- Accurately collect and update patient information, including insurance details, and process payments or bill accounts.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments, adhering to established scheduling guidelines.
- Review sliding fee scale costs and communicate payment options to patients.
- Monitor daily schedules for organizational compliance, report variations, and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accurate records, patient statistics, and generate office productivity reports.
- Manage office supply inventory to ensure availability of necessary materials.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, sorting mail, and data entry.
- Participate in ongoing annual education, including CPR and other required training.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year experience in a healthcare setting with electronic medical record experience
- Effective communication skills
- Strong customer service focus
- Attention to detail
- Technology proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems
- Adherence to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality
- Multitasking and organizational skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting with electronic medical record experience or equivalent.
