About This Role

Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and the public, managing scheduling, insurance verification, billing, and patient inquiries. Perform general office and clerical functions to ensure smooth administrative operations in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the registration area and telephones open promptly and effectively carry out closing procedures.
  • Greet patients and collect all necessary documentation, confirm insurance eligibility, and obtain required signatures.
  • Accurately collect and update patient information, including insurance details, and process payments or bill accounts.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments, adhering to established scheduling guidelines.
  • Review sliding fee scale costs and communicate payment options to patients.
  • Monitor daily schedules for organizational compliance, report variations, and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records, patient statistics, and generate office productivity reports.
  • Manage office supply inventory to ensure availability of necessary materials.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, sorting mail, and data entry.
  • Participate in ongoing annual education, including CPR and other required training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience in a healthcare setting with electronic medical record experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Attention to detail
  • Technology proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems
  • Adherence to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality
  • Multitasking and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare setting with electronic medical record experience or equivalent.
