Patient Care Technician / Tele Tech Night Shift

About This Role

Perform direct patient care, documentation, and communication of significant information to the nursing staff. Assist patients with daily living activities, provide basic care, and maintain a comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient observation and document patient care and response to care
• Communicate significant information to the registered nurse and other appropriate team members
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide basic care to ill patients
• Perform general nursing care such as positioning, lifting, turning, applying special equipment, assisting with bed pan/urinal/commode, ambulating patients, and pre/post-operative care
• Take and accurately record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements
• Prepare patient room and bed for admission and transfers, ensuring all necessary equipment is present
• Maintain an attractive and comfortable environment for patients, focusing on cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling patient belongings
• Answer patient call lights, telephone, and paging system and respond as appropriate
• Perform routine treatment procedures like enemas and application of heat/cold under RN direction
• Release, remove, and reapply restraints to patients under the direction of an RN
• Ensure patient is in proper position and alignment
• Assist Registered Nurse and/or LVN/LPN with complicated patient treatment procedures
• Serve and remove patient meal trays in a timely manner, assist with feeding and food preparation
• Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• BLS certification
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to organize tasks, set priorities, and function under stressful situations

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.

Nice to Have

• Successful completion of a Patient Care Training program
• State Certified Nursing Assistant licensure
• Healthcare experience
