Patient Care Tech (PCT) Training Program

About This Role

This program prepares individuals to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed professional nurses, contributing to patient assessment and ensuring a safe environment for patients at Memorial Hospital Belleville.

Responsibilities

• Implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment
• Administer or assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Perform vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention measures, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing as requested
• Collect clinical data and information on patients, and report changes in patient status to the nurse
• Assist nurse with patient and family education
• Document all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology
• Act as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary
• Ensure availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance
• Participate in professional development

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• No experience required
