Patient Access Intake Representative

About This Role

This role facilitates patient access throughout the organization by performing a wide variety of duties, ensuring compliance with hospital policy, and obtaining accurate patient information for safety and optimal reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient access throughout the organization
• Insure patient compliance with applicable hospital policy
• Obtain accurate patient information for patient safety and optimal reimbursement
• Determine and actively collect patient liabilities

Requirements

• Completion of high school and additional courses/training
• Medical Terminology Certificate
• Demonstrated communication & interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills including medical based programs
• 3+ years related health care experience including working with third party payers
• Fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID 19 or exempt

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training required; Associates Degree preferred
• Three (3) years related health care experience including working with third party payers is required

Nice to Have

• Associate's Degree
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
• CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager)
• CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate)
