Pastry Helper

About This Role

This role involves assisting the pastry production team in preparing pastry products, working across various kitchen stations, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. It requires maintaining a clean and organized workstation and upholding high quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pastry production team, chefs, and cooks with mixing and preparing pastry products
• Work across various stations, including but not limited to fruit cutting, economy packing, juice preparation, basket assembly, plating, and food assembly
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations as outlined in the Food Safety Management System Handbook
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation to uphold sanitation standards
• Uphold DO & CO standards while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Promptly report any food safety concerns to the manager and the hygiene and food safety team
• Support additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Requirements

• Strong knife skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen; bakery or pastry environment
• Previous experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or kitchen environment
• Culinary or pastry coursework/certification
• Bilingual Spanish
• Prior experience with fruit and/or vegetable preparation (washing, peeling, cutting, plating)
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and proper storage practices
