Part Time SAIL Site Driver

About This Role

This role coordinates and executes the delivery of meals to homebound seniors as part of the SAIL program, ensuring timely distribution, proper record-keeping, and general support for the program.

Responsibilities

• Drive a motor vehicle to transport prepared lunches/meals or other items between the senior center, clients’ homes, or other locations.
• Follow established safety procedures and traffic laws; perform driving functions safely in various weather conditions.
• Coordinate with and assist SAIL Site Assistant in preparing and loading meals for delivery.
• Collect payments from clients for delivered meals and forward revenues to the Recreation Program Manager daily.
• Maintain accurate records of homebound clients, delivery trips, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
• Document and communicate any questions or concerns from homebound clients to the Recreation Program Manager.
• Operate a motor vehicle, personal computer, and general office equipment, including word processing and e-mail.
• Coordinate necessary maintenance of the motor vehicle; conduct inspections for safety and proper operation; report faulty equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 months experience in vehicle operation and public interaction
• Valid State of Alabama driver’s license
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic operations
• Skill in operating a motor vehicle and office equipment
• Ability to maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five (5) months previous experience and/or training involving vehicle operation and public interaction, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
