Part-Time Physician Consultant – Primary Care Support (IM / FM)

About This Role

This part-time Physician Consultant role supports primary care teams by leveraging clinical judgment and systems thinking without direct patient care. The position focuses on providing physician-level clinical assessments and decision support to reduce administrative burden on frontline clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Review structured clinical information and follow-up data collected by care teams
• Provide physician-level assessments and recommendations to support PCP decision-making
• Prepare concise, actionable summaries (SOAP-style or consultative formats)
• Support care coordination, chronic disease management, and post-visit follow-ups
• Serve as a clinical second set of eyes for busy primary care practices

Requirements

• MD or DO with board certification (or prior certification) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Significant experience in ambulatory, primary care, or longitudinal patient management
• Comfortable synthesizing clinical information and making thoughtful recommendations
• Interest in mentoring, consulting, or systems-level improvement
• Active or inactive license considered (depending on scope and jurisdiction)
