Part-Time Nurse (PM shifts)

About This Role

Provide direct and specialized nursing care as a part-time nurse, working on a flexible schedule and upholding high standards of patient care for a home care agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide care as defined within the scope of the state’s Nurse Practice Act using sound judgment and critical thinking
• Initiate and revise client care plans, keeping the Director of Nursing updated
• Provide services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill
• Initiate appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
• Prepare clinical and progress notes and summaries of care
• Inform the Director of Nursing, physician, and other personnel of changes in the client’s condition and needs
• Counsel the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs
• Supervise, educate, and coach other nursing personnel as directed
• Assure proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws
• Assist with daily tasks including feeding, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

Requirements

• Current unencumbered RN or LPN licensure in Wisconsin
• Exceptional nursing assessment skills
• Comply with accepted professional standards of practice
• Excellent interpersonal and clinical skills
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff and community
• Reliable transportation
• Auto insurance in accordance with the organization’s requirements if transporting clients
• Ability to ensure confidentiality and security of medical information (HIPAA)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate effectively
• Understanding of regulatory compliance (OSHA, HIPAA)
• Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull, and lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience preferred
