Part Time Dental Assistant

About This Role

Assist the clinical team as a Part-Time Dental Assistant, providing high-level patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment for a children's dentistry and orthodontics practice. Support the mission of providing excellent dental care and creating memorable experiences for patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Help dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory

Requirements

• Prior dental assisting experience
• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program OR six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
• X-Ray certification
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training (as required by law)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior dental assisting experience or six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation)

Nice to Have

• Nitrous Oxide certification
