About This Role

Serve as a Part-Time Communications/Network Engineer, responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining network solutions with a strong focus on security for government agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Select and configure hardware to meet network requirements
  • Design network solutions for range needs, security, and performance
  • Support all engineering disciplines including design of upgraded Communications Subsystem (CMSS) architecture
  • Allocate CMSS network requirements, prepare for and execute tests for the upgraded CMSS
  • Support acceptance and performance testing of network solutions
  • Configure and maintain the Network Management System (NMS)
  • Work closely with the Cybersecurity team to ensure network is configured and hardened to meet security needs
  • Participate in cross-functional customer facing integrated product teams (IPT)
  • Support Range Deployment Team to configure facilities for developmental testing
  • Support Program Management Office (PMO) in estimating, reporting, and planning network engineering tasks
  • Participate in Risk Management Boards (RMB) and identify network design risks

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Networking, Telecommunications, or related field
  • 5+ Years experience
  • Current SECRET clearance
  • US citizenship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Networking, Telecommunications, or related field
  • 5+ Years experience in network engineering

Nice to Have

  • Experience configuring, integrating, performance tuning, and testing an IPv4/IPv6 network
  • Working knowledge of various Cisco, Juniper, and Palo-Alto devices and implementations
  • Experience with Firewall implementation and configuration
  • Experience performing network engineering on a Government/DoD project
  • Experience with system hardening to RMF specifications
  • Experience with network accreditation
  • Experience working on Vandenberg
