Paint Fiberglass Coating Specialist

About This Role

The Paint Fiberglass Coating Specialist is responsible for producing quality parts using paint, gel, and buff finishing processes, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and quality standards. This role involves inspecting parts, maintaining equipment, and utilizing materials effectively to meet customer demand within a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality parts at or above expected rates
• Utilize time and skills effectively in paint, gel, and buff back final finish processes
• Inspect parts at every stage of process to identify and immediately correct defects
• Identify defects and follow proper procedures for non-conformance
• Ensure filters are clean and perform preventative maintenance on paint booth and sprayers
• Tape any hardware exposed to the paint process to avoid overspray
• Use knowledge of quality standards by customer to improve overall quality
• Adhere to safety guidelines and proper PPE, reminding others of their importance
• Read route cards to identify correct materials required for tasks
• Set up, tear down, and calibrate gel guns
• Clean and maintain equipment to avoid downtime and quality issues

Requirements

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to reach and bend on a consistent basis
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

Qualifications

• Prior experience in composites or similar industry preferred
