The Paint Engineer will support manufacturing, supply chain, and facility operations by assisting with specifying, designing, installing, and supporting various systems in assigned areas. This role involves providing emergency response to manufacturing support problems and contributing to continuous reliability improvements.
Responsibilities
- Specify, design, and install production and facilities systems in the assigned area
- Monitor systems and provide modifications to improve SQTC performance for current models or support model changes
- Provide emergency response to daily manufacturing support problems and support trial activity for kaizen, new model, and new equipment launch
- Provide system problem-solving in assigned areas, ensuring continuous reliability and uptime improvements
- Analyze trends and symptoms, address quality and downtime concerns, and provide countermeasures
- Assist in the development of Capital and Expense budgets for assigned areas or programs
- Prepare project folders and conduct model and capacity studies with budget development
- Prepare new model manufacturing plans
- Identify, study, plan, execute, and track WTB and TdC implementation ideas for body and plastics painting operations
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience with problem-solving or troubleshooting
- Four-year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology
- 2-5 years of experience with problem-solving, troubleshooting, or similar experience. Equivalency for internal promotions only: 8 years of experience as a maintenance technician (journeyman level), programmer (engineering or quality), or robot tender/leader in a paint automation zone without a degree.
