About This Role

The PACE Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting participants with daily living needs and providing direct care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, ensuring participant safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to the daily living and safety needs of an assigned group of participants
  • Aid licensed nursing associates in the care of participants by performing various participant care activities and related non-professional services
  • Meet participant’s personal hygiene and basic needs in a timely and caring manner
  • Assist participants with activities of daily living, such as feeding, ambulation and other activities
  • Respond to all call lights promptly and fulfill participant requests or obtain appropriate assistance
  • Perform and assist with assigned non-sterile procedures and other assigned tasks in support of participant care
  • Ensure that the participant is comfortable, necessary supplies are available and within reach, and physical privacy is maintained
  • Collect data and record activity and participant care information on appropriate forms
  • Follow established procedures and maintain clinical and age-specific competencies
  • Observe members for emotional, behavioral, and physical changes in condition and promptly report changes to nursing or group home staff

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited vocational nursing assistant course
  • 1 year hospital experience or comparable participant care experience
  • 1 year of personal or employment experience providing care or services for a frail or elderly population
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment
  • Knowledge of physical, mental and social needs of frail older adults
  • Able to manage changing priorities per participant needs
  • Valid driver’s license

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED and completion of accredited vocational nursing assistant course
  • 1 year hospital experience or comparable participant care experience, and 1 year of personal or employment experience providing care for a frail or elderly population.

  • Experience/familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems
