About This Role

Join a patient-focused orthodontic team as an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, performing clinical procedures and supporting office operations. You'll help patients feel confident in their smiles and contribute to a welcoming, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical procedures as directed by the orthodontist, including changing wires
  • Assist doctor in explaining treatment plans and progress to patients/parents
  • Assist doctor in fitting/delivering orthodontic appliances and all other clinical office needs
  • Maintain supplies and carts
  • Update treatment card notes for each visit
  • Review patient health history and update changes after seating
  • Radiograph patients as needed
  • Take records (scan and load photographs)
  • Maintain clean treatment rooms in compliance with CDC and OSHA regulations
  • Sterilize dental equipment

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Dental Assistant program (or graduating within the next 3 months)
  • 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience or strong interest in orthodontics
  • Pennsylvania X-ray License or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire
  • CPR Certification
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control protocols
  • Required clearances: Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI Fingerprinting

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Dental Assistant program or graduating within the next 3 months
  • 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience or strong interest in orthodontics

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Open Dental software
  • Previous experience working with children and families in a dental setting
