Operator, Assembly

About This Role

This role involves operating molding machines and assembling molded parts for automotive interior systems. You will perform continuous visual and manual quality checks to ensure product excellence and meet production rates.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow Operator Instruction Sheets (OIS) for part number(s), inspection procedures, and packing requirements
• Retrieve, separate, inspect, count, weigh, pack, and label parts according to instructions
• Utilize simple hand tools like clippers, knives, and screwdrivers to trim, cut, and prepare parts safely
• Operate molding machines and/or air-activated tools for assembly and decoration, reporting malfunctions
• Compare and inspect production quality against approved samples and established standards
• Perform simple clerical tasks for recording and summarizing production
• Examine, repair, trim, count, weigh, and perform secondary operations as directed
• Perform tasks to meet established production rates for specific parts
• Conduct routine cleaning chores to maintain workstation cleanliness per 5S requirements
• Interface with the production monitoring system
• Assist in color and mold changes by cleaning work area/equipment and setting up for the next job
• Assist with breaks for other operators

Requirements

• Ability to stand for entire work shift
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices
