Operating Room Nurse

About This Role

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across all life stages, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and document care effectiveness. Work collaboratively with the patient care team to uphold professional nursing practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth, systematic assessment of all assigned patients
• Formulate collaborative and individualized plans of care, identifying expected patient outcomes using the nursing process
• Implement, evaluate, and document patient care interventions and their effectiveness according to the care plan
• Organize, coordinate, and prioritize patient care consistently utilizing available resources
• Maintain awareness of the unit budget
• Function as a professional role model and resource person, providing guidance to co-workers
• Take an active role in unit-based performance improvement
• Maintain responsibility for own professional development through active participation in in-services and/or continuing education programs
• Comply with established chain of command for work-related problems
• Participate in identifying unit needs and supporting unit goals and objectives that contribute to the growth of the Patient Services Department
• Maintain departmental records for administrative and regulatory purposes
• Collaborate with other caregivers to assure appropriate staffing levels on all shifts
• Float as needed per unit and hospital policy

Requirements

• Current RN license in the State of New Jersey or Pennsylvania
• Evidence of successful completion of BLS

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of New Jersey or Pennsylvania
• Prior OR experience preferred (entry level)
