This role involves continuous field maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical components in an Upstream oilfield environment, focusing on circuit breakers, limit switches, overload relays, motor starters, and electrical control circuits. The position requires knowledge of tank battery facilities and offers the opportunity to work 10-12 hour days with rotational weekend call-outs.
Responsibilities
- Perform continual field maintenance and troubleshooting of circuit breakers, limit switches, overload relays, motor starters, and electrical control circuits in an Upstream environment.
- Utilize technical skills to troubleshoot production instrumentation, electronics, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot pump panels at tank battery facilities.
- Install, repair, or replace 120V AC/DC motors, as well as hydraulic and gas electrical controls.
- Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-mechanical, electronic systems).
- Install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and alternative electrical parts.
- Test electrical equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems.
- Test and commission integrated and non-integrated electrical systems, including switchgear and network relays.
- Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
Requirements
- 4+ years Electrician experience
- 2+ years Upstream experience
- Experience troubleshooting motor starters and VFD’s/VSD's
- Ability to do electrical equipment installations, inspections, and troubleshooting tasks
- Familiar with installing, swapping, and testing single to three-phase motors
- Ability to use megger and multimeter
- Ability to use reference documentation to size conductors, overload, and short circuit protection
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years Electrician experience is required, with a minimum of 2 years Upstream experience.
Nice to Have
- Journeyman’s Electrician License
