About This Role

Lead and supervise nutrition services personnel, ensuring patient diet needs are met, and maintaining high standards of food preparation, service, and sanitation within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve customers, fellow employees, and coworkers with courtesy and respect
  • Monitor patient diet orders to meet patient needs
  • Orient, train, and supervise nutrition services personnel
  • Instruct employees in use, care, and maintenance of equipment
  • Supervise and maintain sanitation, safety, and housekeeping procedures
  • Assist in preparation of work and time schedules for food service employees
  • Assist with menu planning according to established patterns
  • Assist with purchasing, inventory, and checking in of food and supplies
  • Maintain or improve standards of food preparation and service
  • Assist in the standardization of recipes and implementing their use
  • Communicate and document discipline problems for follow up by supervisory personnel
  • Communicate daily with all department staff to coordinate and plan service changes
  • Work and communicate with Clinical Dietitian to meet patient needs
  • Assist in day-to-day management of Nutrition Services
  • Perform essential functions of scheduled position on shift
  • Complete and maintain daily reports correctly
  • Complete cleaning assignments and initial cleaning schedule
  • Monitor food storage procedures performed by staff
  • Ensure all equipment is shut off and department locked up at close of operations
