This Clinical Nurse Manager role provides administrative and clinical supervision to nursing staff across various units at Hartgrove Behavioral Health System. The manager is responsible for ensuring quality care, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and evaluating program effectiveness for patients ranging from children to older adults.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff
- Assume 24-hour responsibility for the assigned unit to ensure quality care and services
- Ensure the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu for patients
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs to meet patient needs
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary treatment plan meetings to coordinate patient care
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program
- BSN degree
- 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, concepts, theory
- Knowledge of leadership skills, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management
Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program. BSN required/MSN preferred.
- Three years clinical experience in psychiatric nursing and 2 years in management preferred. Minimum of 1 year experience or special training in the treatment of the specific age/population served.
