The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), specializing in Psychiatric/Mental Health, serves as an initial point-of-contact for new admissions, conducting quality assessments. This role delivers high-quality sessions and interventions to assigned clients in collaboration with an attending psychiatrist.
Responsibilities
- Act as an initial point-of-contact with new admissions
- Provide quality assessments for new admissions
- Deliver high quality sessions/interventions to assigned clients
- Collaborate with attending psychiatrist in client care
Requirements
- Master's Degree or Post-Master's Degree in Nursing with a Specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques
- Good clinical skills including assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health problems and psychiatric disorders
- Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of child, adolescent, and adult needs
- Knowledge of growth and development stages and understanding of treatment needed by age group
- Leadership abilities
Qualifications
- Master's Degree or Post-Master's Degree in Nursing with a Specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- One (1) year experience working with behavioral health population as an APRPNP preferred.
