Support the deployment of new nuclear facilities by generating licensing documentation and regulatory strategies for various stages, from conceptual design to operation. This role involves researching regulatory precedents and collaborating with engineering teams across multiple projects and client environments.
Responsibilities
- Generate licensing documentation and regulatory strategies for startup conceptual design, active construction, and operating nuclear facilities
- Research regulatory precedents
- Collaborate with engineering teams to iterate the design of nuclear facilities
- Travel to support DOE, NRC, and international regulator meetings up to 25%
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, legal, or related field
- One year of adjacent experience through an internship in licensing or an engineering role that interfaced heavily with DOE, NRC, or other highly regulated environment (for junior level)
- 15+ years of experience in regulatory affairs related roles for nuclear projects (for senior and executive level)
Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, legal, or related field
- One year of adjacent experience through an internship in licensing or an engineering role that interfaced heavily with DOE, NRC, or other highly regulated environment is sufficient for junior level.
Nice to Have
- Experience with light water reactor or advanced reactor designs
- Accelerator or other nuclear facility experience
