Non-Certified Pharmacy Technician

Join Dynamic Integrated Services as a Non-Certified Pharmacy Technician in Charleston, SC. This role involves preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining records, and managing pharmacy inventory for a specific contract.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications, and maintain related records for patients
• Prepare, package, label, and distribute medication doses prescribed by physician
• Maintain inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals
• Fill/stock medications in various automated devices and storage locations
• Operate various types of pharmacy automation, including, but not limited to, Autofill devices; Baker Cells; Kalish cells, A-frames; repackaging equipment; electronic scales
• Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, select specific drugs/products required to fill an order by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number
• Clean cells and perform first level preventative maintenance which includes cleaning off lights, vacuuming, and making minor adjustments to equipment
• Understand the precautions required when handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste
• Follow SOP and procedures as required
• Process and prepare prescription orders accurately with appropriate medications for pharmacist verification in open product areas

Requirements

• 6 months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting or graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Basic typing and PC computer skills
• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Ability to read, understand, speak, and write English fluently

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
• 6 months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting OR a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program
